The Water Project is a renowned non-profit organization dedicated to providing sustainable access to clean and safe water to communities in need across sub-Saharan Africa. Through a multifaceted approach involving community engagement, education, and infrastructure development, The Water Project aims to alleviate the burden of water scarcity and improve the health, well-being, and socio-economic prospects of marginalized populations.

FORT International, a corporation committed to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), recognizes the critical importance of access to clean water in achieving sustainable development. Understanding the profound impact that clean water initiatives can have on communities, FORT International has pledged its support to The Water Project as part of its philanthropic endeavors.

FORT’s decision to support The Water Project stems from a shared vision of creating positive social change and addressing pressing global challenges. After learning about The Water Project’s mission and witnessing the transformative impact of their work, FORT International decided to donate to the organization to make a meaningful difference in the lives of communities lacking access to clean water.

The relationship between FORT International and The Water Project commenced with the funding of the Laminaya project in Sierra Leone, which involved the construction of a new borehole and wash project. This initiative, initiated on March 23rd, 2022, marked the beginning of a fruitful relationship aimed at providing sustainable solutions to water scarcity and improving the quality of life for communities in need.

Through financial support and ongoing collaboration, FORT International continues to champion The Water Project’s efforts in providing clean water access to underserved communities, contributing to the realization of SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation. By leveraging their resources and expertise, FORT International and The Water Project exemplify the power of driving positive change and building a more sustainable and equitable future for all.

FORT International has set a yearly commitment to projects such as The Water Project, along with other opportunities that enable us to give back to communities at large. Specifically, we actively seek out communities in need of boreholes and similar infrastructure, aligning with our dedication to initiatives that support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation. This approach also intertwines with SDG 4: Quality Education, as access to clean water is essential for ensuring children can attend school without interruptions. In many cases, particularly in underserved regions, children, especially girls, are compelled to drop out or miss school due to the responsibility of fetching water before classes. By addressing these challenges through our support of The Water Project and similar endeavors, FORT International continues to demonstrate its commitment to driving positive change and fostering a more sustainable and equitable future for all.
