In January of this year, a few members of our FORT International team, including myself, Helina Awayehu, had the privilege of volunteering at The Caring Place, a shelter run by the Miami Rescue Mission. Joining me were François Damian Aristhomene Martínez, our Jr. Social Responsibility & Community Impact Associate, and Elizabeth Castillo, our Chief of Staff at FORT International. It was a heartening experience to contribute our time to serve food to the residents of this community.

Despite the challenges faced by those at The Caring Place, we were deeply moved by the overwhelming sense of gratitude, joy, and camaraderie among everyone we encountered. It was evident that even in the face of adversity, there was resilience and a strong sense of community spirit.

During our time at the facility, we had the opportunity to gain valuable insights into the organization’s operations and the vital services it provides to those in need. Learning about the inner workings of The Caring Place further deepened our appreciation for the dedication and hard work of the staff and volunteers who strive to make a difference in the lives of others every day.

Our participation in this food volunteering event left a lasting impression on us, reinforcing our commitment to social responsibility and community engagement. We are grateful for the chance to support such a worthy cause and look forward to continuing our efforts to positively impact the communities we serve.
